GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct historic research pertaining to project areas and specific historic sites.

  • Research previous historic sites designation within project areas.

  • Prepare background histories for cultural resources reports.

ZONING AND LAND USE LAW

  • Currently serves as Clerk for the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Adjustment in the Borough of Highland Park.

  • Administrative Officer for review of applications for completeness and review plans as they relate to local zoning ordinances and state municipal land use law. 

OPEN SPACE PLANNING

  • Interned with the Trust for Public Land, working with the Middlesex Greenway Project, an effort to convert 3.5 miles of abandoned rail corridor to trail. 

  • Attended meetings with community groups and transportation boards and prepared first drafts of the NJDOT application for funding through ISTEA enhancement monies. 

  • Prepared concept plans for a playground to be developed from empty lots abutting a Newark elementary school.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN

  • Worked for three years as a landscape designer, designing for public space and for residential properties.
